Discover the enchanting city of Hue and its scenic landscapes on this comprehensive tour. Begin with a visit to the Hue Citadel and Imperial City, renowned UNESCO World Heritage sites. Enjoy a leisurely cruise upstream on the Perfume River, stopping at the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda.
Continue your journey with visits to the majestic mausoleums of Emperors Minh Mang and Khai Dinh. The tour also includes a trip to Thanh Toan Village, famous for its charming tile-roofed bridge. Cycling through tranquil rural areas and capturing the essence of local life will offer a unique perspective on Hue.
The Cycling Tour to Hue: Thanh Toan Bridge and Village is a soulful, eco-friendly escape into the "Golden Rice Fields" of Hue. While many travelers stay within the city limits, this half-day journey invites you to pedal through the pastoral outskirts to discover Thanh Toan, a village where the traditions of the Nguyen Dynasty era are still etched into the daily rhythm of the farmers and artisans.
Centered around one of Vietnam’s most beautiful historic bridges, this tour is a masterclass in "Agri-Tourism." It is designed for those who want to feel the rural breeze, smell the ripening rice, and engage in authentic conversations with the legendary "O" (aunties) of the local market. It is an effortless blend of gentle physical activity and deep cultural immersion.
The Thanh Toan Tile-Roofed Bridge
Discover a rare architectural gem: an 18th-century arched wooden bridge featuring a classic tile roof. One of only two such bridges remaining in Vietnam, it was commissioned by a noblewoman to facilitate local trade. Today, it serves as a community "living room" where elders gather to share stories and escape the midday heat.
The Agricultural Museum
Step inside the Thanh Toan Agricultural Tool Museum, a humble yet fascinating collection of traditional farming implements. Learn about the centuries-old techniques used for husking rice, irrigation, and harvesting. You may even have the chance to try your hand at using a traditional water pedal or a stone rice mill.
The Village Market Experience
Visit the local Thanh Toan Market, a vibrant, non-touristy hub of commerce. Unlike the larger city markets, this is where you will find the freshest river fish, local herbs, and the famous "Hue sticky rice." Interact with the friendly vendors and learn about the ingredients that form the backbone of Central Vietnamese cuisine.
Pedaling Through the Rice Paddies
The journey is as rewarding as the destination. The cycling route takes you along quiet, paved paths that wind through vast rice fields and past ancestral family temples. Depending on the season, you will see the landscape transform from an emerald green sea to a golden harvest, providing incredible photography opportunities.

What Makes This Tour Unique
The "Slow Life" Contrast
This tour acts as the perfect counterbalance to the stone-walled majesty of the Imperial Citadel. It shifts the focus from "Royal Hue" to "Rural Hue," highlighting the simple elegance of village life.
Direct Community Engagement
This isn't a "viewing" tour; it's an "interaction" tour. Whether you are chatting with a local over a cup of green tea or learning to make a conical hat, your presence directly supports the village economy.
Low-Impact, High-Sensation
Bicycling allows you to engage all five senses. You can hear the bird calls, smell the rice straw, and feel the change in temperature as you move from the city shade into the open countryside.

Is the cycling difficult for beginners? Not at all. The entire route is flat and uses quiet local roads. Our guides set a very relaxed pace, and we stop frequently to look at points of interest.
What if it rains? In the event of light rain, we provide ponchos. If the weather is unsuitable for cycling, we can easily switch to a private car or "Xe Lôi" (motorized rickshaw) so you can still experience the village in comfort.
Can children join? Yes! We have child-sized bikes and child seats available. The quiet paths make this one of the safest and most enjoyable tours for families in Hue.
