In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up by private car and transfer you to Ben Tre.
After a 2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, you will arrive at AN HÓA bridge, in Ben Tre province. Walk to a workshop to see how the local people peel, split, and pare coconuts using traditional methods. Then, take a boat to visit a local factory where you can see numerous kilns used to make activated charcoal from coconut shells.
Crossing the Mekong River, called Cửa Đại & Cửa Tiểu, 30 km from the Eastern Sea, we arrive at Tam Hiêp Island. Next, a rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy some peaceful time. Visit a local family to enjoy a variety of fruits and honey-tea. Walk or bike along small village paths through large orchards to reach a special farm where they grow creepers (called LÁ SÂM). We will pick some leaves for making and tasting this special herbal jelly.
Afterwards, bike or walk to Ut Trinh’s home for the best lunch. After lunch, we return to our boat to visit Long Thạnh Communal House, a national architectural heritage site, before heading back to our car.
Drive to Can Tho and have dinner at a local restaurant.
Overnight at the hotel in Can Tho.
Around 05:30 AM: In the early morning, our guide will accompany you to depart for Cai Rang floating market. Here, locals buy and sell a variety of fruits and vegetables from boats of all sizes, making it one of the most unique and bustling places in the region. If you’ve had many exciting days traveling in Vietnam, getting out of bed early to witness this charming local market will definitely enrich your Vietnam holiday experience.
The boat trip offers a valuable opportunity to observe the unique "advertisement" method used by local businesses - "Cây Bẹo": Sellers tie their goods to a tall pole so that buyers can see from a distance what they are selling. Sit on the local trading boat, witness the lively activities in the market, and explore the local life in stilt houses along the river.
After the trip, we will return to the hotel for breakfast and relaxation. Then, check out and head back to Ho Chi Minh City by car, stopping to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda in My Tho along the way.
With sincere thanks for traveling to Vietnam with us, we hope you have enjoyed your trip and look forward to seeing you again!
